Job Description:

We are looking to recruit for an Industrial Painter/Blaster to based at our Protective Coatings workshop in Pembroke Dock.

The Role:

To deliver a high quality, consistent and competent painting service in accordance with project and company requirements, standards and procedures.

To ensure that all assigned workscope is completed in a safe manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, materials or the environment.

You will undertake painting duties including applications of industrial coatings, blasting, cleaning, wrapping and metal spraying to ensure the highest standard of finish for a range of surfaces, components or modules within the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, marine, Nuclear and Construction sector.

Requirements –

Potential Experience:

Industrial Painter Blaster/Sprayers experience may include:

  • Hand Painting
  • Blasting
  • Paint Spraying
  • Thermal Spray Applicator
  • Or all of the above

Desirable Training/Qualifications –

CSCS or ICATS Certification

Train the Painer

Coating Inspection

School or Thermal Spraying Technology

CCNSG (required for Site Work only)

Forklift

If you only have experience as a Blaster or Sprayer, there is potential opportunities to receive training in order to grow and develop your skills as an Industrial Painter.

Consideration may also be given to candidates with no previous industrial painting experience, who are keen to start a career in Industrial Surface Protection and Painting.

Your new role will involve:

  • Power wash components to remove contamination
  • Protect machine surfaces and mask any areas not requiring surface preparation and protection
  • Shotblast surfaces to required profile
  • Apply stripe coating to areas where access by spraying is difficult, this is to be undertaken for each coat
  • Spray coat, the required coating system per the specified procedure
  • Check quality and thickness of application
  • Alternative to paint system is to apply thermal spray aluminium
  • Safe handling and movement of components
  • Promote a safe working environment and always ensure that the coating workscope is completed safely and to a high standard
  • Work safely and adhere to the company policies/procedure and those of our client
  • Read, Understand and implement risk assessments and safe working practices/procedures safely and efficiently
  • Read, understand and implement Work Permits in a safe working and controller manner
  • Follow the schedule communicated by the Supervisor and Manager
  • Work as part of a team to successfully achieve the aims and objectives of the Project/Workscope
  • Maintain tools and equipment on a daily basis
  • Demonstrate flexibility and approachability
  • Proactively seek additional tasks where time permits

Job Preview:

Duration – Starting ASAP, full time contract

Location – Pembrokeshire, South Wales

Hours of Work – Monday to Friday (39 hours at Workshop – weekday and weekend overtime will also be available to suit the needs to workscope)

Rate of Pay – Depending on your experience/skill level

This position does not have accommodation allowances etc

The workscope will be in an a workshop facility but also may require you to work in an outdoor environment.

Given the nature of our business and site works, you may have the opportunity to travel to client sites UK wide, travel allowances will be provided and detailed to you if applicable.
